Join local photographer Kevin Kaltenbaugh as he explains some of the basics of woodland photography. We’ll start with a short session in the Park Office conference room, then head out on the trails to learn firsthand how to take successful pictures in the shaded environment of Cook Forest State Park. Searching for Herps' in the Clarion River Valley

Late spring and early summer are a great time of year to go out looking for snakes, frogs, salamanders, and turtles. We will start our car-pool at the Park Office to help the park naturalist survey herp’ hot spots along the Clarion. Participants must be able to traverse steep muddy slopes and rocky terrain. Sturdy walking stick and hiking boots are advised.
