Please join us for a fun filled weekend of living history as we journey through various historical eras of the United States: French & Indian War, Colonial Period, Revolutionary War, Civil War, WWII, and Pennsylvania’s lumber heritage. Join living historian and master story-teller Paul Stillman, historical interpreter Dave Clark, and Grammy nominated singer-song writer-storyteller, Ray Owen, as they take us through these noteworthy periods of American history through first person character portrayals, hands-on demonstrations, and song.

Friday, May 23 from 800-1000pm

‘Seneca Point by Candlelight’ Take a walk back in time with historical characters from the past. Please meet at the Fire Tower parking lot where a 1750’s French Marine will guide us through the ancient rocks of Seneca Point in search of an old Seneca warrior on his trek south along the Catawba Trail.

Dave Clark as a ‘World War II GI of the 28th Infantry Division’ Hear what it was like to be a part of the Keystone Division’s 110th Infantry Regiment known as the ,Bloody Bucket’, as they stormed the beaches of Normandie, the Battle of the Bulge, and beyond. Please bring your camp chairs and meet at the Log Cabin Inn Environmental Learning Classroom.

Paul Stillman as a ‘Colonial Craftsman’ Learn how things were made during the early part of the 18th century during a quill and bamboo pen fabrication workshop. Please bring your camp chairs at meet at the Log Cabin Inn Environmental Learning Classroom.

‘Driving “battlefield” Tour to Lumber History Sites on the Clarion River: Cooksburg-Belltown’ See historical sites, hear the stories, and read from the accounts of the people who lived out their lives on the Clarion. This 3rd person living history driving tour will start promptly at the Log Cabin Inn Environmental Learning Classroom. First time this will be offered to the public. Bring your dinner, you won’t want to miss it.

Ray Owen, GRAMMY nominated singer, songwriter, and storyteller, will be presenting ‘Hats Off to America’ at the Ridge Camp Park Amphitheater. Take a musical journey through history with a crew of colorful characters wearing an array of period hats that step out of history and onto the stage. A spirited American odyssey that ventures from the steam engine to the search engine, the Buffalo chips to the microchips, engaging the past to enlighten our future. Don’t forget your chairs and blankets!
