Fluorescent Mushroom Foray
Log Cabin Inn Environmental Learning Center, Cooksburg, PACook Forest State Park, Log Cabin Inn Environmental Learning Classroom
Join WPMC Mycologists & Identifiers at the Log Cabin Inn Environmental Learning Classroom for an evening stroll through the Forest Cathedral. We will use 365nm UV flashlights to light up the trail and search for fungi that glow in response to ultraviolet light. Parts of the path are flatter but some sections have steep grades of 10-17%. Expect to walk 1-2 miles, but participants can shorten the distance as needed.
Participants should bring a headlamp, ideally with a red light, and wear sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing. Participants are encouraged to bring their own UV flashlight. Leaders will provide protective eyewear.

"Finding Red" on Radcliff
Clear Creek State Park, Clear Creek Road, Sigel, PA, United StatesFall is almost here! Join the park naturalist at shelter 4 to hike a moderate 1.5-mile hike as we look for the trees that are first to turn red. Along the way we will learn a little bit more about the CCC history within the park. Please wear appropriate hiking gear, sturdy shoes as there is uneven terrain, wear bug spray, and bring water.
