Litter Pick-Up
All day20-04-24Cook Forest State Park - Log Cabin Inn Environmental Learning ClassroomLog Cabin Inn Environmental Learning Center, Cooksburg, PAPlease join Friends of Cook Forest as we pick up litter along our designated portion of Forest Road. We’ll meet at the Log Cabin Environmental Learning Classroom to give out supplies before moving to our assigned portions of the road. If attendance allows, we could also clean up other roadways in the park.

Evening Walk with Friends
All day23-04-24Cook Forest Ridge Camp - Nuthole CabinCampground Road, Leeper, PA 16233Please join Friends of Cook Forest as we hike a loop starting at the entrance to Ridge Camp on Route 36. We’ll walk through portions of old growth forest and discuss characteristics and ways to recognize it. Length of the walk will depend on the weather and wishes of the attendees. People and pet-friendly leashed dogs are welcome.

Fire Tower
All day26-04-24Cook Forest State Park - Fire Tower Parking LotCooksburg, Pennsylvania 16217Please bring your binoculars and meet at the Fire Tower Parking Lot for an historical interpretive tour of the Fire Tower and Seneca Point by DCNR Conservation Volunteer, Greg Burns. Learn about local logging history, observe Indian sign, and take a breathtaking view from the top of the Fire Tower.

Mentored Youth - 2024 Spring Gobbler
07:00 -12:0027-04-242024 SPRING GOBBLER (Bearded bird only): Special season for eligible junior hunters, with required license, and mentored hunters 16 and under – April 27, 2024. Only 1 spring gobbler may be taken during this hunt. Hunting hours end at noon. Please see hunting regulations and requirements at the PA Game Commission website www.pgc.pa.gov
